Everything Coming to Pokopia in August

    June 20, 2026

    Get Ready to Dive

August is shaping up to be Pokopia's biggest month since launch. A free software update and the first paid DLC drop at the same time — and whether you're planning to buy the Expansion Pass or not, there's something in here worth preparing for.

The Free Dive Update (All Players)

The headliner for everyone is Dive — a new ability that gives your Ditto a bubble helmet and lets you swim beneath the surface. Once you have it, underwater caves, sunken objects, and aquatic habitats that are invisible from above all open up. You'll be able to build homes and place habitats on the ocean floor, not just scout it.

    How to unlock Dive:

    1. Progress to Bleak Beach and complete the request "Raise the environment level!"
    2. Make sure Ditto already has both Jump and Surf unlocked — Dive is gated behind them.
    3. Once Dive is learned, press B while Surfing to go under.

No Expansion Pass required. This is a free update for every player.

Bubbly Basin: Expansion Pass Part 1

If you do pick up the Expansion Pass ($34.99 / £29.99 / €34.99), August also brings Bubbly Basin — a fully underwater town and the first of three DLC areas. It's built around Pokémon that live in the sea, including Popplio, Mudkip, and Corphish, none of whom appear in the base game.

    Bubbly Basin adds:

    • New ocean floor-themed furniture and décor
    • Fresh outfits for Ditto
    • 30 rare Pokémetal ingots and a recipe for Ditto print blocks and wallpaper (purchase bonuses, claimed on entry)

Parts 2 and 3 of the Expansion Pass arrive in late 2026 and 2027 respectively — one purchase covers all three. A base game + Expansion Pass bundle is available for $104.99 for anyone who hasn't picked up Pokopia yet.

    What to Do Before August

A few things worth taking care of now:

    • Push through Bleak Beach. The "Raise the environment level!" request must be completed before Dive unlocks. If you're not there ye

    Companions share furniture now

    June 18, 2026

Pokopia picked up two patches in June. Version 1.1.0 arrived on June 9, and version 1.1.1 followed on June 18.

    Here is what changed.

The headline from 1.1.0 is companion behavior. When you sit or lie down on a chair or bed, the Pokémon traveling with Ditto will now use nearby furniture alongside you, if there is space. It is the kind of detail that makes the island feel lived in rather than just decorated.

Eeveelution fans will spot one specific change too: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, and Sylveon now sleep at the edge of sofas, the same way Leafeon always has. The whole evolution line behaves consistently now.

The same update added new dialogue variations, including fresh lines for when a Pokémon shows a "…" speech bubble. The timing of those pauses changed too. If you have logged a lot of hours in Pokopia, you will start hearing conversations you have not caught before.

Two quality-of-life changes also arrived in 1.1.0. During in-game events, you can now temporarily suspend trades at the Pokémon Center, which helps if you want to focus on an event without incoming requests piling up. The game also updated the text on Pokémon house-building requests to be clearer. If you track your construction order in the Build Queue, the updated in-game wording now matches what the requests actually ask for.

Patch 1.1.1, released nine days later, fixed two bugs. One caused problems when placed items in an area exceeded a certain limit. The other stopped Ditto's face from changing when you used an emote during photo mode. Not dramatic fixes, but both matter if you decorate heavily or spend time with the camera.

The next major update is on track for August 2026, arriving alongside Part 1 of the Expansion Pass.
