Field guide
What every item is actually for
Pokopia throws a lot of items at you. Lumber, firepit, clay jar, pink tulip, lure. Half of them show up in a habitat recipe you are currently trying to build, but you have no idea what category they fall into or where you get them from.
The Items catalogue is the reference index for when you need to look something up. This guide explains what the catalogue shows and how to get the most out of it.
Most items wear more than one hat
An item in Pokopia rarely does just one thing. A bundle of tall grass is an environmental element some habitats need nearby, but it is also a crafting ingredient and a gift that certain Pokémon actually want. Lumber goes into habitat recipes, kit recipes, and crafting chains. Knowing an item by name is not the same as knowing what it does.
- Habitat ingredientsPlaced in the world to create or extend a habitat. Gathered or crafted first, then arranged.
- Kit materialsGathered and handed to a builder Pokémon to construct a house or structure.
- Gifts and requestsGiven to resident Pokémon to raise their Comfy Level. Each species has preferences.
- Climate settersPlaced in or near a habitat to define its climate type: humid, dry, warm, cold or dark.
- Crafting ingredientsRaw materials turned into finished items at the recipe screen before being used elsewhere.
The distinction that trips people up most is gathered versus crafted. You cannot place raw lumber directly into most recipes. Lumber goes into the recipe screen first, turns into something else, and that finished item is what the habitat or kit actually wants. The catalogue shows both ends of that chain.
Browse by name, category or craftability
The Items catalogue shows every item in the game. Search by name to go straight to what you are looking for. Filter by category to browse a section: building materials, food, decorations, climate gear, and more than two dozen others.
The craftability filter splits the list into two groups. Craftable items have a recipe: one or more ingredients from the crafting screen. Found or purchased items have no recipe — they come from gather nodes in the world, from the shop, or from events. If you are trying to figure out how to get something and it shows as found or purchased, you cannot craft your way to it.
Not a tracker
The catalogue is a reference, not a checklist. If you want to record which items you own, that is the Item Checklist. These are two separate tools with different jobs.
Tap any item to see the full picture
Each item in the catalogue opens a detail panel. The panel has three sections: recipe, uses, and habitats.
Recipe shows the crafting ingredients for items that have one, each as a tappable row. Tap an ingredient and the panel drills into that ingredient, showing its own recipe. There is a back button to return. This lets you trace a crafting chain several levels deep without losing your place.
Uses shows which other items consume this one as an ingredient. Useful when you are sitting on raw materials and want to know what you can make from them.
Required by shows every habitat that needs this item in its recipe, with a quantity badge and a button to add that habitat to the Build Queue directly from here.
Add directly to your shopping list
Each item detail has an Add to shopping list button. Useful when you spot something you want to stock up on without building a specific habitat. It appears in the Shopping List under its own tab.
Look it up. Trace the chain. Add to queue.
Search for an item, check what it crafts into, find which habitats need it, and add them to the build queue without leaving the catalogue.
